Arboretum and Meadow / Cambridge

In this fabulous project, working with clients concerned about climate change and biodiversity, we transformed a large area of under-utilised lawn into a ‘mini-arboretum’ enveloped in a meadow of native wildflowers. In phase 1 we planted a range of carefully selected climate-adapted trees, providing a variety of long-lasting colours, shapes and scents. In phase 2, we laid wildflower turf to quickly create an atmospheric understory. Working with wildflower turf provides a contrast to many of our other seeded meadow projects; the clients and I can’t wait to see how the meadow develops.
